Historic information about Villa ivana

When we decided to invest in Croatia in the late 1990s, we specifically wanted to buy an ideally located sea front property. We purchased the sea front home of a prominent Doctor in 1998 and then converted it into our present day Villa Ivana. The renovation and conversion work began initially after the purchase of the property but it took nearly a decade for work to complete because of the slow legal processes involved in waiting for licenses and permits. The home was built in the early 1980s, and at the time it was the only home built in Ostricka Luka. Ostricka luka translates into "sharp bay". Before the home was built, Ostricka Luka was a safe anchorage for sailboats, fishing boats and Yachts. Its location was known only to fisherman and sailors. Today it is a small coastal village that we can all enjoy. It is very hard to find a property in Croatia that has anywhere close to an idyllic location on the beach like villa ivana has. This is what we love about villa ivana, the proximity to the sea feels as if your doorstep is just a step away from the Adriatic sea. We also love Villa Ivana's discrete location in a quiet fishing village on a peninsula. This is very similar to being on one of croatia's islands but without the annoying traffic jams waiting on ferry boats. We also love the rustic design and architecture of Villa Ivana. Villa Ivana is truly unique, it is in a league of it's own when compared to other apartments in this region of Europe. A team of architects on both sides of the Atlantic worked on the design and structure of Villa Ivana. Major work in the early 2000s was accompanied by container shipments from america. Almost all of the furniture is imported from American. All of the kitchens were designed and imported from America. All the sliding glass french doors were imported from America. Pre-caste stone was a niche industry that our family specialized in America, we brought it back with us to Croatia in the form of the unique exterior Greek - Roman design of Villa Ivana. Pre-caste stone molds and building equipment were shipped by container to Croatia so that balustrades and columns and benches could be created on site.
